Despite the cleanliness, Beijing has quite a bit of graffiti. It is actually very refreshing, seeing the Chinese display some ingenuity and damnation of the man (Empire Records, anyone?).
The graffiti is pretty cool—it is definitely no Los Angeles/NYC paint, but hey, you gotta start somewhere. It is very urban, but definitely has that modern Chinese culture influence, rife with video game references. I swear, the whole country is full of nerds. Instead of having cellphone beltclips, they all have PSPs. Everybody, whether they are seven or seventy, plays on those things.
Anyway, I have been taking photos of the graffiti I’ve found in Beijing, as well as some of the grit that the city has to offer.
