About Me

I am going to go out on a limb and assume that the only reason you are reading these words right now is because you were presented with the opportunity to click the link to this blog, either through my incessant cross-promotion of it on the social networking tools that everybody and their mother uses every day, or via an email from my parents or grandparents–the only people who likely not only keep up with this blog but also love to show off how much cooler their (grand)son is compared to your’s. </sarcasm>

My name is Justin. I am currently studying at Beijing Normal University in, you guessed it, China, by way of UC Irvine. I originally hail from the San Fernando Valley, which has the best ethnic food, porn, and weed on the planet. Those, along with microbrew, fulfills the basic needs for human survival, as far as I am concerned. I am currently majoring in Chinese and Political Science at UC Irvine, and I am spending the remainder of this school year (having started in July) studying the Chinese language, culture, and food in the capital.

I take a lot of photos, but I am terrible at uploading them in a timely manner–just ask everybody who has ever bugged me to upload the photos I took of them a month prior. It’s not that I don’t try to, it’s just that I always get sidetracked. For example, I originally sat down at the computer to finish a blogpost and edit and upload the corresponding photos. Here I am now, hours later, writing this “About” page, the blogpost still a rough draft, and those photos JUST NOW done downloading to my external hard drive, not even in Lightroom for editing and export.

In so many words, I fail. I am going to get back to those photos, but keep checking back, I will get them all done and posted here as soon as possible. I promise!
